I just found this online, and though maybe some would like to translate this if they can make it out, and see how it reads compared to the Khabouris. This Codex is said to be from the 4th century and is an Eastern Text. Stephen Silver has transcribed another image of the same Codex, but it was much higher res. This image might be good enough though. It was taken in 1955.

Can someone confirm this? I was told this the other day by a person who I showed that picture of the Yonan Codex to. I told him that the Yonan Codex is thought to be from the 4th century. But he said it's not possible, because...
"the diacritical points (nqoshotho: ftoho, zqofo, fboso etc.) are not from 4th.CE. There are nqoshotho in this manuscript.
In the picture above, does it show these, and if so, does that mean it's a later copy, and if so, how later must it be?

It's hard to tell from that photo. Vowel markings were often added by a later hand. Because of that I would not use that as a sole factor when dating a manuscript, unless the ink of the markings are consistent with the ink of the text.

What years were these diacritical points added to these older Manuscript Texts?...I see that many of the older ones got this later treatment by reading the British Musem catalogue discriptons of each MS...was this in the 800s and later? And why was it needed if not before?

Hi Akhi,
Vowels were added later to make it easier to remember the proper pronunciation. Over time, people were spoiled by having easy vowel markings ... and sometimes they retroactively applied them to the older manuscripts.
The larger picture doesn't really settle the ink question, either way. But in my opinion, it's much more likely that the estrangelo text predates the vowel markings which were probably added by a later hand. ( originally pointed estrangelo texts are rare, eastern vowel pointing is much more prevalent in the swadaya (contemporary) script )
