Acts 13:1

Blessings Brethren,

I came across the name Manaen in Acts 13:1 which in the Aramaic reads as Manaiel (ܡܢܐܝܠ).
Can someone tell me what this name means and if there's a Hebrew equivalent?

Shlama,

the Greek form is not a known name. Thayer's suggests it may be a Grecian form of the Hebrew Menacheym, meaning "Comforter." as it is in the Aramaic, perhaps it means "El's Portion" ???

not much help, but something to chew on...
