The eye
#3
Hi akhi,

The eye could be seen as our perception...how we see things. If it is clear (allowing light) then we are without guile or prejudice...rare indeed! The body is what we accumulate our perception into... heart, mind, bowels (of mercy) etc. and what we act out of...which either defiles us... or honours us.

This could also relate to a shepherd (under-shepherd) and the flock in his care. As in ...the blind leading the blind....or ....a teacher of righteousness who sees the way.

Shlama,

Yochanan

quote="bar_khela"]"The lamp of the body is the eye. If your eye is good your whole body will be full of light. But if it is bad your whole body will be full of darkness. If the light in you is darkness, how great is that darkness."

What is meant by "the eye?" And what is meant by the body? How can the goodness of "the eye" make the body radiant? Is this radiance physical since the body is presumably physical?[/quote]
knowledge without understanding is just more clutter in the mind but with the framework of love one can build (edify) with it.
