some fruit of the last few months
#6
Yes Rev Dave, these are the odes still. I have been working with them a lot. It has been a real treat also! Such strength in them.

The texts I'm working with are:

-The odes and Psalms of Solomon by J. Rendel Harris

-The Odes of solomon: The Syriac texts. James Hamilton Charlesworth.

I sent a copy of Harris's book to Paul. It did not contain the additional text that is in Charlesworth's book though. I don't think it was found at the time Harris did his translation of it, although Harris's is very nice! Both books contain aramaic texts, but Charlesworth's is more complete for the linguist.

This is only part of what The Lord wants me to do, and I felt His leading to present some of it here for some reason, so I have. I think I'm able to take it a bit farther than the scholar can, meaning that I depend entirely on The Lord for His leading and revelation on these. At the moment, I'm just trying to put together a critical type text of these for The Lord and pray he will let me reach into the spiritual imprint, the living word, and make the corrections from there. Scholars don't have that sort of resource at their disposal, nor do they consider that to be even an option, which is ok with me, I want to do it. It touches a bit on how the old prophets used to do it, but instead of me receiving the words to write down, I want to see the words that were written, and make the corrections. Anyone who has seen the glory of the living word would know what I'm talking about.

Anyways, here is one that presents more of a doctrinal approach for you Rev Dave. I have capitalized areas that I think are referenced to The Almighty to show the distinction that is being presented by the writer. Most, I do say most, areas I'm sure are correct on which part of the GODHEAD is being presented, but I want a further insight to be sure on this particular ode/psalm and a few others. But here it is to ponder for the time being:

ODE 7

1 As the course of anger is against wickedness, so is the course of joy over what is lovely, and brings in of its fruits without restraint.
2 My joy is The LORD and my running is towards Him, and this path of mine is excellent, for there is a helper for me, The LORD.
3 He hath generously shown Himself unto me in His simplicity; the greatness of His kindness hath humbled me.
4 For He became like me, that I may receive Him; in form like myself, that I may put Him on;
5 And I trembled not when I saw Him, because He was gracious unto me.
6 Like my nature He became, that I may understand Him, and like my form, that I may not turn from Him.
7 The Father of knowledge is the word of knowledge, yet HE who created wisdom is wiser than HIS works;
8 And HE who created me when yet I was nothing, knew also what I should do when I came into being.
9 Therefore, was HE merciful unto me in HIS abundant grace, and granted me to ask from Him and to receive from His sacrifice.
10 For it is HE who is incorruptible, the perfection of the ages, and the Father of them.
11 And HE hath given Him to be seen by them who art HIS own, in order that they may know HIM who made them, and not suppose that they came of themselves.
12 For towards knowledge hath HE set His way, and He hath widened it, extended it, and brought it to complete perfection;
13 And hath set over it the traces of His light, and it proceedeth therein from the beginning to the end.
14 For by Him HE was served, and by The Son HE was pleased, and for His life HE shalt take hold of everything.
15 And The MOST HIGH shall be known by His saints; to announce unto those who have songs of the coming of The LORD;
16 That they may go forth to meet HIM, and may sing to HIM with joy and with the harp of many tones;
17 And they shalt praise the LORD in HIS love, because HE is near and beholdeth.
18 And hatred shalt be taken from the earth; and jealousy shalt be drowned with it;
19 For ignorance wast destroyed upon it, because the knowledge of The LORD hath arrived.
20 Let the singers sing the grace of The LORD MOST HIGH; let them bring their songs;
21 And let their hearts be like the day, and their gentle voices like the majestic beauty of The LORD.
22 And let there not be anyone who is without knowledge or voice;
23 For HE hath given a mouth unto HIS creation, to open the voice of the heart towards HIM, to praise HIM.
24 Confess ye HIS power, and show forth HIS grace.

EDIT: The Lord opened a few things up to make the text flow even better.
