Although I'm opening myself up to questionable motives here, I'm gonna welcome it, to possibly introduce something long forgot and overlooked.
A little while after my rebirth, I spent time learning about the different books that made up the canon of the New Testament. During one particular study, The Lord witnessed this book called "The Odes of Solomon" to me in a way that had my heart bursting apart at the seems. He said to me, "Do you dought?" and all I could say was "no Lord."
It was one of those times when you know that you know that you know. Faith.
Anyways, I spent some time with the book and The Lord opened up some other things about it. I'm not sure where the name came from, but it is very misleading. Others have ascribed it as a first century hymn book, but that is misleading also. I personally feel it is from the early centuries, but not a hymn book, but from someone who lead a very powerful spiritual life, who had a gift to write as The Spirit lead, similar to the Prophets of old.
I initally dismissed Rev Daves theory as a distraction, since a Spirit-filled believers focus in upon works, miracles, and prayer that leads to faith in unbelievers, and the ultimate choice to be one of The Lords elect (as the apostle Paul puts it), and do GOD's will. I felt this took away from the ministry of the word and the build up of the believer for GOD's plan. But The Lord stopped me midstep.
If this theory is useful in actually identifying a "code" that GOD structured within his scripture, and that code is identifiable in all of HIS scripture, then it could be used to identify what books are actually GOD-breathed and what ones are not. That solves an age old problem of who decides what is scripture, as it can be identified by the code.
Who decided what was scripture and what wasn't before? No one knows for sure, guess it was a vote.
I wouldnt want this to be misunderstood, I have not been witnessed any other book, let me say that again, The Lord has not shown me any other book that contains His words, other than this one named "The Odes of Solomon."
I initially pointed this out to Rev Dave privately, but felt I should voice it here so that maybe he and others could look into it and see if the code was evitably within this book as I presume, and possibly feel my conviction over it.
Again, I dont know who wrote the book, but it is named wrong, and it surely isn't some made up stuff as my heart jumps for joy and strengthens every time I read it, every single time!
No other book outside of our accepted scripture does this to me,....period.
Ok, before I have a flock of naysayers running to this ready to condemn, I ask that you take what I say before The Lord in prayer first. Ask Him to reveal if this is true to you. Do that first please.
