Bible Codes in Peshitta
#16
Give gbausc a break. There are many ways to serve the Lord. Gbausc, it is good if you can find real codes, such as torah spelt out every fifty letters of the books of the pentateuch. That is certainly not chance.

No its not, its a distraction, and people who are caught up in it do nothing to serve The Lord and his members by it, it is completely unscriptural. The translation on here is way more important than some neat and cute toy that you play with. When I was a child,....etc.

This guy can read aramaic like the back of his hand, then he should apply this to good use in helping Paul finish his translation. There and then is he doing something for The Lord.

How good is he in translating the chapters word for word?? Has he even asked Paul yet?

Akhi Dave,

I think the part of Rev. Bauscher's work that involves mathematical modeling on signs of translation is fascinating stuff. Any evidence of the Peshitta's originality does have great value here, especially if it points to the Greek being dependent on the Aramaic.

The benefit to our mission, of course, would be that people who are exposed to this research may come here to learn more about the Aramaic NT. It may gather for us a wider audience. Whether they are believers already, or not, that can only be a good thing.

Shlama Rev. Bauscher:
This is getting interesting...

Hebrews 11:1 ???Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen???.
(I think is the most precise definition of Faith found in the Bible, do you agree?)

The example you give about the Mother of Jesus??? ???prove??? of Her virginity... Well, in this particular case the required evidence IS A PHYSICAL ONE, ???scientifically??? (or better, just ???naturally???) available (BTW, there???s a crude description of this ???test??? in the apocryphal Yacob???s Protoevangelion XIX,3).
Besides this, you cannot compare the ???historical??? truth (History IS NOT an ???exact science???) to the Physical, Mathematical or Chemical truth. The ???poetical??? truth is not the same as ???scientifical??? (Poets speak of ???Golden Sun??? or ???Silver Moon???!): Do you really believe that Exodus events happened exactly as in the Hollywood films are shown? (BTW, Where it???s said in the Bible that there were 1,5 million people involved?). Do you really think that Creation was performed in SIX DAYS? Or that Eve was really created from the Adam???s rib? Scientific X-Rays of any male individual wouldn???t support that... And I seriously consider that there???s ANY contradiction between Bible and Science... They simple have different purposes and methods (???Bible teaches not HOW GOES the heaven, but HOW TO GO to the heaven???, St. Augustine ???I believe-said).
Let???s (briefly) examine the other example, about the Resurrection...
1. The apostles and first disciples were ???privileged??? with the EVIDENCE (Or let???s better say, a ???REAL-BUT-MYSTERIOUS-EXPERIENCE???, it seems a German word!) of the Risen Jesus. This ???Evidence???, however, is SUPPORTED BY THE FAITH they already had in Jesus (even if weakened by the ???scandalon??? of the Cross). It???s an iterative issue in the ???Risen Jesus apparitions??? the NOT (immediate) RECOGNITION of Him (Luk 24:16; Joh 20:13;21:4.12; Mt 28,17?). I see this as a sign of what we could call ???the Mystery of the totally new ???META(=beyond)PHYSICAL???condition of Jesus??? (Cf. 1Cor 15:44: 0ynxwr 0rgp, ???spiritual body???): He was ???HIMSELF but not THE SAME??? (in Latin is better said: IPSE non ISDEM Jesus). One wonders: Why Risen Jesus didn???t show Himself to Pilate, Annas, Caiaphas, etc. or to the whole people? The ???evidence??? would compel everybody to believe. It would be a success... Or not?
Miracles (Fwt0 , which is poorly translated by ???Tekmerion???, only once in Act 1,3 [a ???hapax legomenon???]; GNT uses mostly ???Semeion/a??? which is a closer approach; also ???terata???) are only recognized (???decoded???, to use a familiar word) by people who already have faith... Don???t you know the joke of the Pharisees watching Jesus while walking over the waters? They said: ???See that, this guy claims to be the Son of God, and He don???t even know how to swim!??? :-)
Many people SAW Jesus??? miracles but they interpreted them in a wrong way (Joh 6:26; Mk 12:24) or simply didn???t believed in Him at all (Joh 6:13). The Faith is always a Gift FREELY accepted (or rejected). God always leaves the ???other door??? open... Jesus criticized or didn???t trust those who asked ???signs??? (???proves???) to believe (Mt 12:39;Joh 4:48).
2. That privilege of ???Seeing??? Risen Jesus was strictly reserved to that first generation... ???The rest of us???, the millions believers since that time are included in this text of 1Pe 1:8: ???Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy??? or still better, in the ???Blessing of Jesus??? for those who would ???BELIEVE WITHOUT SEEING??? (Joh 20:28). This is what we got to believe in the Resurrection:
a) The External (historical) Testimony of the Apostolic generation (sealed by their Martyrdom) and, first of all (or combined with),
b) The Internal (spiritual) Testimony of the Roukha dQoudesha. This is a SPIRITUAL EVIDENCE, again NOT MEASURABLE, but REAL. ???the evidence of things not seen...??? Contradiction? No, evidence, but ANOTHER KIND OF EVIDENCE human Science can???t ???touch??? or ???verify???, a necessary action for the Science to perform, otherwise it doesn???t deserve that name (Or are we talking about a ???Pseudoscience????).

The only PHYSICAL EVIDENCE of the Resurrection we have is the EMPTY TOMB (I like better to say OPEN TOMB), It could even be photographed... But this can be ???explained??? in a different way (Mt 28:12-13) by a non believer.
All examples in Heb Chapter 11 begin with ???BY the Faith...??? (PNT: Fwnymhb: prefix ???B??? = In, with, by...): the Faith was the ???instrument??? or ???cause??? (not the consequence), ???motivation???, ???motor??? for all these mentioned persons to do what they did...
----
Sorry, I have been always very bad in Maths, but even scientifically speaking, in regard of the text searched, as others in the Forum have cleverly pointed out: of WHICH TEXT we are talking about? I???m afraid that this relativizes the seriousness or accuracy of this method applied for searching the alleged codes. And this is very important for SCIENCE, especially Mathematics or Statistics.
You didn???t answer my ???technical curiosity???, about pre- and suffixes of words (are they included in the search?), which in a language such as Aramaic is significant... Otherwise, the result could be qualified as a ???Sophisma imperfectae enumerationis??? (???Imperfect ???incomplete- Enumeration Sophism???), using the Formal Logic terminology.
Finally, I must insist in the DISTINCTION between this Codes stuff and the very important comparative analytical study of texts as a really ???scientifically- applicable to the NT and actually worthwhile for the purpose of this Forum: the Aramaic priority vindication.

Shlama Akhi Valentin,

I agree with you about the comparative analytical study of texts, Aramaic and Greek, as being well within the purpose of this forum. Even codes would be acceptable, but I think the comparisons of the Aramaic vs. Greek are much more interesting and defendable.

This is the only type of evidence that I've seen Rev. Bauscher post, and if I remember the article he published in the codes magazine, it dealt directly with this type of evidence. (which to me is fascinating.)

I think the word of GOD is way more important than some made up idea.

If all these people and their ideas are to be considered, than your work will suffer. Need we forget how much the greek has influence and how much the aramaic corrects it's mistakes?

maybe I extend myself somewhat, but GOD's word is of much more importance than someones idea that there is actually code to look at in it and the puzzle it presents.

Let's look at the priorities here for The Lord. There is nothing in the word that says "thou shalt read bible code and be fascinated all day long and forget about what GOD wants."

Your work is of more importance than this stuff.

Shlama Akhi Dave,

I think if you read the article Rev. Bauscher posted, you will notice that it has to do with using mathematics to find patterns of translation in the Greek NT. It doesn't deal at all with "bible codes" in the commonly understood sense.

I think this stuff is great. Translations should show some pattern in regards to phrase substitutions and the like. And that's important for Aramaic primacy.

Don't worry - the work here won't suffer. The biggest obstacle in my way is my own schedule, not any discussions going on around here.

Dave,

Holy mackerel Dave ! You would think I had just proved The Satanic Bible is the original !

I have no intention of distracting or criticizing Paul. I believe he is doing a great work and hope he will continue to do so. He says he is fascinated with the work I have presented and will not be hurt by it. Why don't you take him at his word for it ?

My codes are based only on the Names and Titles of Deity used in the Bible text of Old and New Testaments.

It is a very simple test of the codes theory which avoids the practice of looking for long messages or predicting the future ,which some are engaged in.

"If God were to put codes in the Bible, He would leave a Divine signature, using His Names and Titles as found in the Bible text." That is my hypothesis.

These would be hidden and searchable only with a computer, as it involves looking for millions of ELS's (codes found by skipping an equal number of letters in the search for each letter of a word (9wsy) Yeshua ,for example.

The data I found supports my hypothesis. These are very encouraging results to me because the codes are found only in the Peshitta or Peshitto NT and The Hebrew OT !

I tested other texts (including the Greek NT)for every single word and the results there are not scientifically significant .They show only about a 1 in 10 chance.

The Peshitta results (I use that word for The Western text that I tested as well as for The Eastern text) are incredible.I have already shown the stats above.
I tested for 690 codes . I challenge anyone to reproduce these results on any other text.

If these results hold (they have been verified by a professional statistician and former fellow of Price Water House Cooper, the world's largest accounting firm ),then there will be scientific grounds supporting The Divine inspiration of The Peshitta New Testament and The Old Testament.
That excites me and it should interest everyone who wants to advance the cause of truth.

The objections you have raised could have been and were raised when Tyndale proposed translating The Bible from Hebrew and Greek into English. He was getting closer to the original -getting behind the Latin to the Greek and Hebrew- a quantum leap in enlightenment and the cause of truth and salvation- The beginning of the reformation and the enlightenment.
All that we know today came out of that bold step of Tyndale, Luther and Erasmus. It shook the world and the world still shakes today. All the great universities came of that reformation-enlightenment era.

Imagine what God may do if we can move the western world to accept the original Peshitta New Testament as the word of The Living God !
It may lead to another reformation. We sorely need one !

How many souls were being saved before the reformation ?
How many since ?
Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
0hl0d 0tlm Nm 0nd0 9msmw yh 0nd0 9msm Nm 0twnmyh lykm Romans 10:17

Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

0nzrkm 0ld Nw9msn 0nky0 w0 yhw9ms 0ld whl Nwnmyhn 0nky0 w0 hb wnmyh 0ld 0ny0l Nwrqn lykh 0nky0 Romans 10:14

Because the codes I am looking for require a computer means that if they are valid, God reserved them for our generation to discover. We should not be ignorant of the times in which we live and the significance of our being placed in them , as opposed to Tyndale's time.

Blessings,

ok Dave, I feel your passion in this.

Let me back up here a little and throw out some questions. Do you feel that this shows the inspiration or spiritual imprint? I dont need scriptural support here, just straight answers from you, from your heart on this.

Also, would this method be useful in other areas? Books that are not considered canon but may be shown to have the same codes within them??

Craig Wrote:There is no Peshitta Revelation. And the Western Five in the Peshitto are universally held to be translations of the Greek (Although I suppose there could be some individual mavericks out there who would disagree with the very groups that added and mantained those 5 books in the Peshitto). If your results are showing that the Peshitto mss. of the Western Five are more original than the Greek mss. then you lend credence to my theory about the nature of Hebrew/Aramaic languages.

Shlama, Craig

Revelation is Aramaic alright, Akki, just not the Peshitto Aramaic version :-)

gbausc I applaud your work. Many people who call themselves Christian will attack you on this subject (perhaps being unwittingly used by Satan) as this may constitute physical proof - and Satan does nt liek that. While, it is better to beleive with no proof, it is still good to believe with truth <!-- sSmile --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smile.gif" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /><!-- sSmile --> e.g. Countless times a person converts because of a miracle - physical proof. e.g. Lazarus raised from the dead. Pretty physical...

Brother Dave,

The codes have not been found in any non Bible books. That is, ELS's (equidistant letter sequences, words searched by skipping letters) do not occur in significant numbers in any non -Bible text.
I have read Brendan Mckay who claims they do, but his findings are meaningless.

What I have found so far supports the hypothesis that God
did put codes in The Peshitta New Testament in the form of Divine Names in Hebrew and Aramaic: Yeshua,Elaha,Meshikha,Mariah,Rucha,Amra,Chumra,Owr,Parucha,Shelicha,Yahweh,Yah Yeshu,Miltha,Ha Melah,Ena Ena,Elohim, etc., etc, .. 75 Names and titles.
These are searched for numbers of occurrences in the text.I am not looking for long codes but large numbers of short codes 3-6 letters long- all names and Titles of God used in scripture.
For each name, I also did a search in a control text the same size and letter composition as The Peshitto. I compare the results overall in The Peshitto and the control text.

If these results hold (they have been verified by a professional statistician and former fellow of Price Water House Cooper, the world's largest accounting firm ),then there will be scientific grounds supporting The Divine inspiration of The Peshitta New Testament and The Hebrew Old Testament.

I hope to soon search the Peshitta text of The CoE.
I will let you know the results when I obtain them.

Grace and peace,

Shlama Brother Valentin,

Yes, that is the Bible definition of faith which I quoted in my previous post. It says faith is the evidence !
Therefore we cannot expect to have faith without evidence. There is no such thing. One could say there is faith without seeing, but not faith without evidence.

I was discussing the evidence the children of the Exodus had, not the evidence we have today. They did not have historical evidence. They made history and became the evidence. It was very physical evidence !

37 ?? And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children.
P+:m db:l Myrbg:h ylgr Pl0 tw0m-ss:k h:tko oom9r:m l0rvy-ynb weoy:w 37

We know that the Hebrew people were fruitful with many children, according to Exodus 1. A very conservative estimate of two children per man and an equal number of men and women would bring the number to 2,400,000. My estimate of 1.5 million was too low. I have little doubt there were over 3 million.

There were many who experienced that miracle and the many other miracles in Egypt. They were changed from slaves to a free nation under God by those miracles and by their obedience to God's word. Faith is action. See Hebrews 11:4-39

I do not say that everyone needs physical evidence; I do say everyone needs evidence. Some people , however, will accept physical evidence and believe.

John 2:23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.
36 ?? Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did. {Dorcas: or, Doe, or, Roe}
37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.
38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them. {delay: or, be grieved}
39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.
40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.
42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.

You ask many questions which I have not time to answer. I will say that I reject the idea that the disciples believed the resurrection based on previous faith they had in Him.

Read Mark 16. The disciples disbelieved the women's report that Jesus was risen.

Read Matthew 28:

Matthew 28:17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
wwh wglpt0 Nyd Nwhnm hl wdgo yhw0zx dkw Matthew 28:17

Even when they gaze upon Him they doubt.
Yes , there are some who will not believe the evidence and some who will. We need to look for all the evidence we can. We can never have too much for some folk.

Blessings In Christ,

Dave B

[b] <!-- s:listen: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/listen.gif" alt=":listen:" title="Listen" /><!-- s:listen: --> Guys, guys, guys: Look at yourselves, arguing over who's right and who is wrong! just what the devil ordered! Maybe this code stuff is good but maybe not. The way I see it, is that if a person is a believer and is of the right substance of faith, the need to prove that the bible is the inspired word of YHWH is unessesary. Yes' prove it's accuracy as far as translations go compaired to the greek due to mans evil desires and misunderstanding of the aramaic language, but leave the lets prove it's real stuff out. I know it's real, my spirit tells me so every day. It does [the word] say go into the world and preach the gospel but nowhere that I have read says to try and prove it's the word of YHWH. I really don't think the father meant that we humans needed to be scholars or mathematicians to read or understand his word, but after a few scribes got done with thier own agenda, it left us with a little less of the truth and understanding and more questions about why. Faith is the key to having the father answer ALL your prayers even if it's not his perfect will for you, and prayer of the right kind will most certainly win favor with him. I pray that you all don't missunderstand me but I am only trying to point a few things out after reading this and found that not many mentioned taking this to the prayer room. I understand why paul would think that it 'could' help in the understanding of the primacy of the beloved peshitta and bring this view to others, but it could also confuse people too. There is not much time left so it only would be logical to focus on his will for us and not get sidetracked with the small stuff, faith, prayer and truth are the guides to the bosom of YHWH ,and this was handed down by our forefathers and has not changed to this day. So let's not try to prove it but lets finish translating to correct the mistranslations and put our hearts and minds in his hands and surely his will be done! Blessings on you all from the bottom of my heart. Richard <!-- sSmile --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smile.gif" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /><!-- sSmile -->
