2nd Corinthians 6:16
#1
Shlama Akhay,

Has anybody ever noticed this? In 2nd Cor. 6:16, the Grk.-to- Eng. translations have "And what agreement hath a temple of God with idols?" (ASV)
James Murdock's translation from the PNT starts like this:
"or what agreement hath the temple of God with that of demons?"
Here's the SEDRA link for the Aramaic word for 'demons'-

Maybe this should be in the 'General' forum since it's not a split-word situation. There's are verses in the OT that makes a strong connection between idols and demons.

Psa 106:36 And served their idols, Which became a snare unto them.
Psa 106:37 Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto demons, (ASV)

Deu 32:16 They moved him to jealousy with strange gods; With abominations provoked they him to anger.
Deu 32:17 They sacrificed unto demons, which were no God, To gods that they knew not, To new gods that came up of late, Which your fathers dreaded not. (ASV)

I think it's cool, this is not the split word forum...
