Yes, tonight I will start it up again. Been slackin' big-time. Gonna try and do a chapter or two a week.

Hard to find the motivation and the time (especially the time) some days.

motivation is always fixable. Time is hard to come by.

I'm spending more time in your translation here, it seems. Your is more exact Paul. I think others took some liberties thinking that is was smoothing it out or something. At any means, I like yours much better, helps me considerably!!

I know my constant questions take some of your time Akhi, but rest assured, after History1 is published, I will not have to bother you so much...

It's never a problem, Akhi.

The problem is with me. I have to get past this slump and start translating again....actually, I'm doing so right now.

Cool

btw when can you return the file to me with answers? Don't want to pressure you, but with your stuff, it should be enough, then I can publish it.

Dear Paul:

Words cannot adequately express how valuable your Interlinear Translation of the Aramaic New Testament is for advancing everyone's understanding of the Peshitta while demonstrating its beautiful simplicity and completeness and exposing the faultiness of the Greek New Testament manuscripts. The Greek lovers will always try to logically explain their dogmatic defense of the Greek manuscripts, but when your complete Aramaic Interlinear Translation of the New Testament is put next to any Greek interlinear, only fools will try to defend the Greek.

With your Interlinear New Testament, even those of us who only know a little Aramaic can demonstrate the flaws and obvious mis-translations in the Greek text. Lamsa translated the Aramaic scriptures into English to the best of his ability, but I think he was unable to convince a single Greek scholar because they could not understand the Aramaic underpinning. What you are doing is at a much higher level of scholarly effort. I predict that your Interlinear New Testament will eventually win not only a battle but also the war in demonstrating the true significance and primacy of the Peshitta.

In every time-consuming difficult project, there is a time for growing weary and wondering whether it is worth continuing. Please be assured that your work is extremely valuable and very much appreciated by us all. I predict that eventually your Interlinear New Testament will be the gold standard by which all other New Testament versions will be judged and interpreted. Please be encouraged!

God bless you for what you are doing.

Sincerely,

Otto

Thanks Akhi Otto, that means a lot to me. I actually started to translate Ch. 11 of Acts yesterday. It's been so many long months, feels good again.

I'll keep you in my prayers Paul, life has a way of weighing us down at times and prayer from another has a way of picking another up.

The more time I'm spending with the translation you are doing Paul, the more time I find some true gems. For me, it is helping more than I expected. Much more than Murdocks or Lamsa's translations.

Yes, I feel also that Akhan Paul's is the best and most honest (sort of inevitable with an interlinear) Peshitta translation. At least till I am able to fund a better one. But maybe by then, Akhan Paul is still translating his...

btw dudes, where can I get an online free version of POT? I already have Lamsa's POT, but need to compare it...

Yup, can't lie too much if the original Aramaic is right underneath.

The C.A.L. site has the entire Peshitta OT in it's "Targum" search (the Peshitta OT is just another "Targum.")
