Akhi Paul, since it is 0yx and not 0yxd in the Matthew 16:16, should it not be ???God of life??? in your translation instead of ???living God????
This would also make more sense when other Greek mss say "God of salvation"
Did I make a valid point or am I just pissing in the wind? <!-- s --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/huh.gif" alt="" title="Huh" /><!-- s -->
Hi Akhi,
Actually, because it doesn't have the Daleth proclitic in front of it, we would not translate it "of life."
If we say "Alaha d'Khayya" - that would mean "God of Life" - but the phrase there is "Alaha Khayya" (without the Daleth Proclitic) which means "living God."
