But the vast majority of the footnotes, and basically all the appendices is the complete work of Roth, so it's fine for him to copyright and sell that as he pleases. And in the beginning he was going to post it for free, but it was Baruch, his webmaster at the time, who came up with the idea of making a study Bible, and thus the AENT started to become a reality.
