Possibility of Adding a Theological Forum?
#1
As I read through these threads, I can't help but notice theology is still brought up a whole lot despite the fact that this is a non-theological forum. I understand the reason for not discussing theology on the board as much as possible, but I was wondering about the possibility of having a "theological dumping ground" so to speak where people can have civil discussions on theology. My main reason is so that we can avoid getting scholarly threads into a theological pit. So if someone brings up theology, the discussion will be able to be moved to the theology thread in case it shows signs of taking over the thread. Just giving my two cents!

The key word there is civil.

If anyone wants to volunteer to moderate the forum and has the time to waste, I'd be happy to create the dumping ground and stay clear of it.

I would have the time to moderate it if you wanted me to, but I think someone like Chuck who is more seasoned in studying church history, Aramaic language, and the Peshitta itself would be more suitable.

I would nominate Thirdwoe to moderate that.

And I would suggest the non-"civil" threads there be deleted to not waste server space.

And you should add a "Like" button so that I can like DrawCloser's post

As stimulating theological discussion is something I prefer to do in-person over a nice hot cup of tea (which is how most important things should be done, in my opinion) I'm more one who would lurk rather than participate in such a forum. As a result, my feelings are neutral on the subject.

Brothers, I've been trying hard to steer clear of that type discussion/debate... But, I think I only like the Idea, here, if it can stay related to what is found written in the Peshitta, and which would help support the superiority of it's text over another language or a related text form, which could be shown to either muddy, or even alter the true teaching.
