Dylan, if you can, could you speak to him about these verses? See the problem?
This is from his latest version, (June 16, 2013), as seen on Amazon.com for sale.
Matthew 28:1
1. "Then in the evening of the week when Sunday was coming to an end, there came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary, to see the tomb."
Mark 16:1,2
1. "And as the Sabbath ended, Mary Magdalene and Mary of James and Salome, bought spices to come and anoint him. 2. At dusk, however, on Sunday, they came to the tombs, as the sun had set."
This is how it appears in the "look inside" on Amazon.com, where you can see what is printed in the book. It seems that this is the older translation, before he corrected it, as now seen online. Where Matthew 28:1 now reads:
"1. Then as the Sabbath had ended and the first day of the week had begun*, there came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary, to see the tomb."
For the Mark passage, he has the same reading on his online version and his latest printed version, which reads thus:
"1. And as the Sabbath ended, Mary Magdalene and Mary of James and Salome, bought spices to come and anoint him. 2. At dusk, however, on Sunday*, they came to the tombs, as the sun had set."
The question I have here is, what day/time was it that they came to the tomb? Was it when "Sunday was coming to an end"? as he has it translated in his latest printed edition, Or when "the 1st day of the week" (Sunday) "had begun?" as he has it in his latest online edition?
Was it "at dusk" "on Sunday" when they come to the tomb, "as the sun had set", as he has it translated in Mark 16:2 as seen in latest printed edition, as well as in the latest online version? If so, this would contradict his Matthew 28:1 in his latest printed edition.
