Nazarene order of books in NT
#1
Hi All,

What would be the order of 27 books in the NT according to the Messianic Talmidaye?
I know it has been discussed here, but I cannot find it.

Thanks!

It would be the same as the eastern canon which goes,

Gospels
Acts
General Epistles
Pauline Epistles (including Hebrews)
Revelation (not part of the eastern canon)

The order of the Epistles is as you'd expect them. In early letters discussing the order of the books, this was actually the majority opinion as well, even with all the western assemblies. We owe our modern day order to Jerome and his Latin Vulgate. If there is another order then I am unaware.

I should mention though that the Nazarene communities of the second to fourth century typically relied on what is called "The Gospel According to the Hebrews", although they didn't disguard the Pauline epistles as did the Ebionites. But no official canon or order for them as a distinct sect has been listed in our available records.
