Discussing Aramaic Primacy with Greek-NT-based Churches
#1
Hello,

Have you tried to discuss Aramaic Primacy with representatives from Churches that use greek-based NT? For example: Roman-Catholic Church? What questions have you asked them and what answers have you got from them? I'm roman-catholic and I'm just in process of trying to contact bishops in my Archdiocese to ask them about Peshitta, Aramaic Primacy etc.

I tried to talk about Peshitta with some Protestants but this was futile. Some Protestants are really blindly following greek manuscripts no matter what.

Regards,
Grzegorz

Shlama,

i've not yet tried with any representatives, but that would be an interesting conversation.

as for individual believers, yes. although i have had some minor success, it is usually futile, it seems, because they do just maintain a headstrong attitude against anything non-Greek. mockery is one of the main responses i've gotten. one pastor actually laughed at a woman who relayed to him what i had shared with her. and then when i bring the actual textual witnesses as evidence, the response has been SILENCE, and conversation ends. although that speaks volumes, obviously, it is not the reaction i would really like to see. this tells me that most are more content to remain in a position obviously fraught with error than to admit they are wrong and start to change. this is frustrating and concerning to me.

hopefully my experiences are not the norm....maybe others have had better overall experiences. i hope so! <!-- sSad --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/sad.gif" alt="Sad" title="Sad" /><!-- sSad -->
