A while back you recommended the Hebrew/Aramaic NT which I purchased.
I have noticed that the translation favors 'traditional' understanding, and one example is with the words 'cross' and 'crucified', and variants.
Aramaic has zayin.koph.yod.peh.heh for 'staff', and zayin.koph.yod.peh, tzakiph? for 'staked'. The Hebrew version in the 'New Covenant Aramaic Peshitta With Hebrew Translation' renders these words "Tzelav" and "Lehitzelav", leaning toward the greek concept of cross and crucifixion. The Hebrew word for 'staff' is Makel, as in Mark 6:8. Should the verb in Matt 26:2 be 'l'samen, for 'stake'? or some other ancient verb I'm not aware of, instead of 'lehitzalev'?
I'm finding many such erroneous renderings in this and other Hebrew versions of Brit Chadasha. Any chance of getting a more accurate rendering into Hebrew from the Aramaic Peshitta?
