3 Variants in Hebrews
#1
Shlama,

i just recently finished a personal translation of Hebrews, and i ran across three variant Greek readings that, although minor, make complete sense within the scope of the corresponding Aramaic word.

I don't know if these have been touched on here before, but I thought I'd present them here together:

#1
Hebrews 9:11
But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; (KJV)

the variants are:
genomenwn --- In B, D*, 1739, pc, itd, ite --- "come to pass, be made, performed, done"
mellontwn --- In ??, A, D2, K, L, P, 075, 0150, 33, 81, 88, 104, 181, 256, 263, 326, 330, 365, 424, 436, 451, 459, 614, 629, 630, 1241, 1319, 1573, 1852, 1877, 1881, 1912, 1962, 1984, 1985, 2127, 2200, 2464, 2492, 2495, Byz Lect --- "to become, come to be"

Peshitta reads: r9sd - to be, come to pass, be made, performed, done

#2
Hebrews 11:13
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of [them], and embraced [them], and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. (KJV)

the variants are:
labontes --- In p46, Y, D, Byz, ??2 ???to take, get hold of???
komisamenoi --- In ??*, I, P, 33, 81, 326, 365, 1241, pc, WH ???to receive by being given, obtain???
prodexamenoi --- In A ???to receive???

Peshitta reads: wbsn -- ???to take / receive / accept / summon / assume -- either gently or by force???

#3
And truly, if they had been mindful of that [country] from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. (KJV)

the variants:
exebhsan --- In ??*, A, D*, P, 33, 81, 365, 1175, 1241, 1739, 1881, pc --- "to go forth, as in walking"
exhlqon --- In ??2, D2, Y, Byz --- "to go or come out of"

Peshitta reads: wqpnd -- amply covering the idea of "going forth or coming out" of somewhere.
