Diatessaron in Arabic
#8
Christina Wrote:Shlama okh Abudar,

Thank you for the pdf files, I'll add them to my archive, howz your translation of Isaiah going btw?

Speaking of stuff in Arabic script, howz about making the Khabouris Codex in Arabic script too? Akhay Stephen, Lars, do you think this is possible? It'll make KC even more accessible and it's the same alphabet anyway so it shouldn't be difficult to create a compatible font. Whaddaya think?

Shlama Christine:
Unfortunately the Arabic Alphabet will not work in a (V1.1) TTF format because it contains 28 (actually 29) letters and the letter Samekh is non-existent. To "fold the glyphs" into a TTF isn't a problem but the actual ordinal designation of each and every letter must coincide with (V1.1) so that the letters appear in the same places when the font is used. To do this would make the Arabic illegible. A legible Peshitta "transliteration" into Arabic is not possible in my opinion.

Shlama,
Stephen
