PSS - it's Aramaic, not Assyrian. The Assyrian language was actually Akkadian, now extinct as a spoken tongue. It may be loosely referred to as Assyrian since modern Assyrians are the largest grouping that still speak it, but technically it's Aramaic.

Thanks for the encouragement. I guess I got carried away there. I really don't like the word Syriac, and I've heard Assyrians call it old Assyrian, so I thought I'd refer to it the way the people that actually speak it do.
