Zorbans Got It RIGHT & it STILL Points To Aramaic Primacy
#1
Shlama to all,

Luke 12:14
But he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?
(ASV)

There is a variant reading from the Greek here that, although meaning exactly the same thing in the Greek, has no explanation as to which was first, or WHY the variant even exists in the first place - if the Greek was not a translation of the Aramaic. The word in question is ???judge,??? and appears as following:

dikastjn
Byzantine, Scrivener 1894, and Stephens 1550 have this reading.

kritjn
Alexandrian and Hort & Westcott have this reading

The Peshitta comes to the rescue with the sole reading of 0nyd d???ayna, meaning ???judge.??? The scribes were split on the Greek term to use, even though their diverging choices actually meant exactly the same thing as the Aramaic!
