Shed some light
#1
I noticed in the king james that in psalm 138:2 it has '.. for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name'
From lamsa's translation ' for thou hast magnified thy word above every name'
Can someone shed some more light , understanding on this verse, thank you.

Shlama Akhi Sean:
The Hebrew of Psalm 138:2 reads thus...

I will worship....toward your holy Temple
esh'takhaveh......el-Hayikal kad'sh'kha

and praise...your name
v'odeh.......et-sh'mekha

for your lovingkindness..and for your truth
al-khas'd'kha.................v'al-emitekha

for magnified..above all your NAME..(is) your WORD
ki-hig'dal'ta.......al-kol-shim'kha........im'ratekha

The capital letters are mine. This is a literal translation.

Shlama,
Stephen
