Levistam (V1.1)
#1
Shlama Akhi Paul:
The Levistam (V1.1) font that I created has the full compliment of letters, kerfed double letters and they're in the precise positions as Estrangelo (V1.1). I've had problems using the SIL Ezra because it doesn't seem to have all of the letters available and in the same positions as Estrangelo (V1.1). Now Lars has gone through Levistam (V1.1) and I believe also through East Adiabene (V1.1) as well, to weed out any anomalies. The renewed TTF's are available at http://www.dukhrana.com and you are welcome to make the updated fonts available on http://www.peshitta.org if you think it would be helpful.
The Levistam glyphs were created using STa"M (Sefer Torah-Tefillin and Mezuzzah) laws governing the shape and size of each letter. They are truly 3x3 kulmus and are close in style to Rabbi Kornheiser's. I spent considerable time working the individual glyphs so that they contain the lowest vector number. The RESH is shorter on the stem, so it can't be confused with a DALET. The KHET is a VAV and a ZAYIN which are married under a khupa (canopy). The taggin are in the right places, albeit I've curved the outsides of the triads for clarity when printing. The style is the Ashkenazi, Beyt Yoseph script.
I've even included a big fat Yeshua Menorah, to boot.
