I am so happy this book is on my computer!!! This is the second critical Aramaic resource in a month that I have been able to get from peshitta.org--Gwynn being the first.
I just have to say that Norton totally rocks on every level. There are some folks in the field that are great translators and there are others who are more gifted at commentary and critical analysis, but Norton is a master at both. And Gwynn, Norton and Torrey all prove that the Peshitta primacy movement is far from new and not in any way lacking in brilliant apologists. Lamsa stands on their shoulders and we stand on Lamsa and theirs as well.
This though must be part 1, because it only has 13 books: 1) Romans, 2) 1 Cor, 3) 2 Cor, 4) Galatians, 5) Ephesians, 6) Colossians, 7) Philippians, <!-- s8) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/cool.gif" alt="8)" title="Cool" /><!-- s8) --> 1 Thess, 9) 2 Thess, 10) 1 Tim, 11) 2 Tim, 12) TItus, 13) Philemon.
I would imagine that Hebrews, 1 John, James and 1 Peter are the other four, as these are the remaining "epistles" of the Eastern canon. I want to see these now!!!
The second link though does not appear to be a Norton book at all, but some kind of bibliography. Hopefully we can find the rest of this great work.
The thing that is very interesting about Norton is that there are times that he has used the Aramaic to prop up the Greek reading. For example, "cloak" is totally gone in 2 Tim 4:13 in favor of what we know as "book carrier". On the other hand, he let stand the divergence between "wicked" and "righteous" in Romans 5:7. But he didn't exactly advertise these either--utterly fascinating.
