Hate to get on my soapbox here, feel like I'm straying from your point.....but 'splain to me something please:
How come they are able to find so many errors in the translation from the Greek of the Bazaar into Aramaic? Yet, we never hear of the errors from the supposed translation from the Greek NT to the Aramaic NT?
I mean, wouldn't you think that something as short and insignificant a work like the Bazaar .... since it has errors in translation due to confusion of certain aspects of Greek grammar, that this would likewise result in say, many similar errors in the Peshitta?
Were the translators of the Greek NT who made the Peshitta perfect ?
I mean, I don't get it. From this short summary you provided, it is clear that Mar Paul, the Patriarch who translated Nestorius' work here, made a boo-boo every time he encountered a double accusative.
Wouldn't one think that similar errors should be found in the Peshitta, since it's a translation supposedly from the Greek NT?
