Mari/P.E.A.C.E. (Matthew's Gospel) Review
#1
Shlama Friends,

Last night, our Akhi Andrew Gabriel Roth, e-mailed me a copy of Matthew's gospel, along with all of it's footnotes and study notes.

WOW! That's my first really pertinent comment!

I feel wholly inadequate to review even the first Book of a work of this spiritual magnitude.

First, I want to speak about something that I consider to be a very important issue.

For those of you who are not really into Biblical End Times eschatology, please indulge me here.

I want to say that it's my belief that Our Sovereign Elohim ('God') gave this work into the hands of A JEW to complete.

I want us all to REALLY think on this. It was the Jews who first gave us the New Covenant, and now here in this rather dark time on our little blue planet, God has chosen another Jew to bring us the Good News of Messiah, in a form that we can ALL understand, and that we can all love.

This (to the best of my knowledge) is the 10th Syriac to English translation of either the Eastern Peshitta, or the Western Peshitto.

And it's only the second complete Eastern Peshitta New Covenant published in the last 70 YEARS !

But I think that The Father saved it for this time, that is so near to The End of Days. I honestly do.

In a kind of perfect redemptive Way of doing things, this is the nearest that we are ever going to get to a PERFECT TRANSLATION of the Eastern Peshitta.

The thing that struck me with the most force, is that this is an imminently READABLE translation.

How long have we looked for this? Some of us have looked for it for literally YEARS.

For anyone that knows even a little transliterated Syriac, Mari/P.E.A.C.E. is very easily understood, and there are are a few words that might not have been read in any New Covenant for perhaps over 2,000 years now (unless of course, your native tongue is Syriac).

The Father's Name is "Master YHWH", and the Son's Name is "Y'shua".

I feel very comfortable with both of these as Names.

The footnotes and study notes are many, and I barely had the time to just touch even the surface there.

There is 'a tenderness' to this translation that I can't fully comprehend, nor describe with any words from the English language.

Andrew nailed it, you FEEL this translation, and it can take you through a very ancient Door, that perhaps was not even meant to be opened until this time.

That's the mystic part of myself speaking, but I honestly feel an Ancientness from this text, but yet at the same time, a fresh and vibrant and completely ALIVE version of Matthew's Good News.

I can also feel all of the work that has gone into just this one Book alone. And it's almost unbelievable how GOOD that it turned out.

Not that Andrew doesn't have "the Right Stuff", he obviously DOES have it powerfully, but we're talking about walking up a pretty much 2,000 year old hill here, with ALL of "the collective baggage" that that brings with it.

But YHWH Always works things out in His Perfect Time, and I have nothing but great things to say about Andrew, and his publishing partner, Baruch.

I wish to say 'Thank You Both' for allowing me to write this review. I'm a broken man in many ways, but I always KNEW that you could pull this off.

I knew it a year ago, when I wrote that Magiera review, and here we are getting closer, and closer, to publication.

That's frankly the only negative thing that I have to say, is that we ALL cannot buy a copy of Mari/P.E.A.C.E. tomorrow morning!!

Andrew, if I heard you correctly, you guys have maybe another few weeks or so to go, and it could be August, just as easily as in what's left of July?

Is that kind of what I heard you say? Apologies if it is not, and just mark me "excited", and I heard wrong from reading through too much Joy! <!-- s:biggrin: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/biggrin.gif" alt="" title="Big Grin" /><!-- s:biggrin: -->

Friends, if YOU want to read Messiah's Words in a translation that will uphold YOUR FAITH, you need to buy a copy of Mari/P.E.A.C.E., as soon as you can!

Thank you Andrew!

Shlama Akhi Albion and others,

My dear brother, as I told in private, I am warmed by your favor. Your good opinion of this work is one of the very few that I covet zealously but obviously I hope others like it too.

It strikes me all the time the enormity of what Baruch, myself and our proofreader Shali are doing. We never seem to run out of ways to keep honing the text. Even today I had to make about a dozen changes to Matthew (minor ones) from the version you have. I found no problems in Mark at all and tonight am proofing the template copy of Luke. Matthew was by far the hardest book to do and the others will come out much more quickly once we are past Acts. When I say this, I mean FINAL VERSIONS corrected for minor spelling and pronunciation, not reinventing the wheel. These books will come from layout from Baruch to Shali and myself in interlinear form and when we send our tweaks back that's it. From there about 300 pages of Appendices follow, but these are all English so they will layout extremely fast.

Stay tuned as we get finished. I don't know if it will be July or August, but it will be soon. Hey. maybe the sacred time it comes out from bindery will be around Rosh Hashanna or Yom Kippur which would be very appropriate too. On the other hand, it could also be in a few weeks. We'll just have to see. I just wanted you all to know Mari is being born into the physical world RIGHT NOW and it is REAL.

Shlama all--

Just heard from my publisher Baruch...

Revelation is now done in final layout!

I have done my last checks on Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and Hebrews. Now Baruch needs to send me the rest for a final once over while he checks the appendices. Once Shali and I finish our checks on this and the much smaller Intro sections, Mari/PEACE will be off to bindery.

Incidentally, for those who may be wondering, the order of books I have seen is the order they will appear in publication. As I mentioned a while ago, the 27 book canon has been re-formed into 22 books on four "scrolls", and these are:

Scroll 1: Gospels and Emissaries (counts as 5)

Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts

Scroll 2: The Major Testimonies (counts as 6)

Hebrews, The Testimony of the Two Brothers of our Master [Ya'akov, Yehuda], The Testimony of Keefa [1 and 2 Peter], Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians

Scroll 3: The Ten

Galatians, Ephesians, Colossians, Philippians, 1 Thess, 2 Thess, 1 Tim, 2 Tim, TItus and Philemon

Scroll 4: The Second Testimony of Yochanan (counts as 1)

1-3 John, Revelation

Shlama all--

I have now reviewed all the NT books and sent my final changes to Baruch. He told me that he is about halfway through the last of the material (other than the translation) going into layout. If that's right, I have the last bit to finally proof in layout in about a week. It won't take me long then to give the last go-ahead for the entire editon to go forward.

There is only one thing I don't know: How long it will take to produce the physical product. Baruch tells me it shouldn't be too long, but he is not being specific enough for me to give a firm timetable. I can say this though: The layout is beyond gorgeous and I hope all of you really like it. Stay tuned and thank you all for your support for this project!

We are all waiting very anxiously. I will pray that the US economy holds up long enough to allow me to receive this text. I fear hard times are ahead of all of us. God bless.

Shlama all--

Just got off the phone with my publisher Baruch--ALMOST there! Here is what he told me:

1) The non-translation portions of the text (intro, appendices) are now loaded in the final template, but they reside for the moment as separate files.

2) On Monday or Tuesday, Baruch will transmit to me the WHOLE file, as it will appear in published form for the most part. He also wants me to proof on more short entry that he is writing in the Appendix, that of the MEMRA, and I will add touches on how it is and is not like MILTHA. I may also get some additional appendix material in template form or not, since we did proofread those twice already. (He has a few minor final questions to go over with the printers first)

3) Along with the unified mega-file for Mari/PEACE will come a final page total and with that a final word on the price, but as far as he can see now the volume will not be out of the range I mentioned to a few of you a while ago. I don't want to re-pbulsih that number right now because the final number is very close anyway.

4) From there, sometime next week, Mari/PEACE will go to bindery. Granted an on demand print/pay system simplifies some things, but we still have to get a handle on how long a time frame there is from final virtual copy to the first physical one. Baruch tells me he has made special arrangements with the printers to Mari/PEACE at the top of the pile to process immediately, but my own experience with my other books leads me to stil be a bit cautious here. It took 4 months for my first book Signs to get ready for on-demand print, and 2 + months for RQ1. On the other hand RQ2 (Path to Life) was reading in a little more than a week. Also we have to update the web sites peole will buy it from and make that seamless.

Okay so that's it, hot off the press (pun intended). Stay tuned! I think August may be the month...
