Shlama Akhi Albion,

It's been a busy several weeks at Netzari Press! I am seeing the final layouts for the text as it seems Baruch has completed the last of the layout decisions. We got set back a piece when it became clear that the original layout setter was not able to do what we wanted so, while my proofreader and I continued to use the downtime to double and triple check the text, Baruch went out and found three printers to bid on the layout. This week he selected the best of these and the results (he says) are stunning. I have seen a bit of it and love it too. Mari/PEACE will be in 6x9 format and the total page count is over 900. If all goes well we should have the last of it in layout in a week or so.

In the meantime, I have been forced to write one final essay in the already 300 page appendix section. This will demand a good part of the weekend and into next week, but I have to do it to refute a heresy that just cropped up among the Netzarim. It is too important for me not to kill these lies in Mari and since it just came about I have to take the time to deal with it. If I don't, the Peshitta itself will be called into question and I can't have that.

I know you want a date. I do too. However, I don't want to disappoint you here when there is so much that is in other people's hands. It may still be in June or July. It depends on how long it takes from final layout signoff to being physically bound. We have been challenged in every possible way but we will push forward and prevail. I will make sure you know the moment I do.

Shlama to all--

Still not willing to give a date yet, but we have just reached the last major milestone: the layout problems have been solved. My publsiher estimates he is 100 hours away (in terms of his labor time, not 3-4 days) before Mari will be ready to be bound and has set aside 2 weeks to do it, so that means July, but I will let Baruch speak for himself:

Shlama Khati Shali and Akhi Andrew,

Ok I just got the green light to go with the formatting--it's as good as it gets.

Baruch HaShem YHWH!!!

I've been told that it will take me about 100 hours to complete the formatting, so you will know what I'll be up to over these next two weeks. It takes about an hour to format and typset eight pages of English and Aramaic, however the Appendixes will go much faster.

The templates took a lot longer to build than I expected, I essentially had to build them myself with coaching from some of the pros because the other option was to either send my computer to the designer because of the unique software requirements needed for Aramaic or send them my software for them to load on their computers.

Anyways, I'm really, really glad to see that we're good to go now, finally. Someday when we're sitting over a cool one I'll tell you the real story, and wow...it was a good one... But I didn't want you to worry about some of the complications that came about. So now we're off to the races.

Have a Great day!!!
Blessings,
Baruch

Shlama Andrew,

This is great news! Having had worked in a printing press at one time, I know how hectic and befuddling things can get especially around deadlines (half the time they're not met). It is so good to hear that MARI is finally approaching daylight after all this time, and we are all so eager for its grand debut!

Out of curiosity, I was wondering if you could offer any brief mention as to this mysterious "heresy that just cropped up among the Netzarim"? I haven't heard. I'm not trying to start a thread of argument that'll carry on endlessly like other recent ones over 'Messianic' issues, but I am curious. I just haven't heard.

In appreciation,

Ryan

Shlama Akhi Ryan,

I am so angry about it that I cannot even speak on it. To give voice to it will simply defile me but it is something I believe all of here would easily and completely reject. I will give one clue, but don't expect me to answer back directly if you guess my meaning, but I may based on your answer give you another hint. But as for being direct and plain spoken on the matter, I will only detail my outrage in Mari/PEACE. That's the only way I can vent on it. My clue is this: I've named the heresy after a powerful descendant of Cain.
