Romans 8:29, sealed/marked
#1
Shlama, something on this topic may have already been posted, so if it was, I apologize.

Romans 8:29, sealed/marked

?????? ?????????? ?????? ???????? ???????? ???????? ???????????? ???????????? ???????? ?????? ???????? ?????????? ???????? ?????????? ??

Biblia Peshitta, Porque habi??ndolos, conocido previamente, los marc?? con la semejanza de la imagen de su Hijo, para que El fuera el primog??nito entre muchos hermanos. (Because having previously known them, He marked them with the likeness of the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers.)

Murdock, And he knew them, previously; and he sealed them with the likeness of the image of his Son; that He might be the first-born of many brothers.

King James Version, For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

American Standard Version, For whom he foreknew, he also foreordained to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

The Peshitta appears to show that this has already become complete - "He sealed/marked them", from eternity, whereas the Greek text presents it as an event still awaiting fulfilment in the Earth.

Shlama Yaaqub,

Here's 'The Way International Aramaic/English Interlinear' version:

"And from the first he knew them and marked them out with the likeness of the image of his son that he might be the firstborn of many brothers"

Peace, Albion
