Notice that the Aramaic names of Isaiah and Elijah (Eshaiya and Eliya) don't include the "heh" at the end of the name, yet the "Ya" at the end still stands for "Yahweh"
Eliyahu (Hebrew)= Alef-Lamed-Yod-Heh-Waw
Eliya (Aramaic)= Alef-Lamed-Yod-Alef
So, MarYa, does seem to just be a variant of Yahweh in the Syriac Aramaic dialect. The Hebrew short form of the Tetragrammaton (Yah) is spelled as "Ya" in Aramaic. What is "Ya", a previous poster asked? "Ya" is the Aramaic version of "Yah", which is short for Yahweh (see Psalm 68:4 for an example of this shorter form in the Hebrew).
