Aramaic-Hebrew Dictionary
#1
Shlama,

Is anyone familiar with the Aramaic-Hebrew Dictionary by Rabbi Ezra Zion Melemed? If so, how useful (if any) do you think it might be for the study of Aramaic? It says it is a tool for Gemara study.

Explanation from the sales website:

An indispensable tool for anyone involved in Gemara study. An Aramaic-Hebrew dictionary for the Talmud with terms presented alphabetically, in the form in which they appear in the Talmud. In Hebrew. Includes a 100-page section on variant readings in the Talmud. 592 pp.

They also have another book called Grammar for Gemara & Targum Onkelos with the following description:

An expanded edition! The most useful work available in English on Babylonian Talmud grammar. Includes paradigms of the verb, the noun, pronoun and adjective, plus the full conjugations of 30 crucial Aramaic verbs. A publication of the Ariel Institute. 120 pp.

I found these on Felhdeim Publishers. I typed in the word Aramaic in their search box without using the drop down menu on the left and it produced various results for publications related to Aramaic.

If anyone is familiar with any of these resources, the reason I ask is I'm compiling a list of useful books and other items that would be useful for the study of Aramaic.

If you have any suggestions for the list please let me know. <!-- sSmile --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smile.gif" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /><!-- sSmile --> I have some "modern Aramaic" resources but I'm looking more for ancient, etc.

Thanks in advance,
James
