Does this church really exist? Never heard of it before... It will be interesting to see how long these guys have been using Peshitta.

I saw on their site that they almost copied my Sabbath article from the book word-for-word with the very same translation I have based on the root word "observance of Sabbath". I am ecstatic to find an Eastern Christian church who holds to the Peshitta and did not relinquish Sabbath observance to Roman pressure.

Very interesting to see what these guys have to say about the Peshitta. So far, the site has stuff that we already knew, but they will surely grow.

Any warnings regarding this church? Are they really an old Eastern church or is this some kind of new movement?

You know I suspect this a new group. I actually have a little "Church of the East" background myself. I came out of a missionary diocese that started in England, that was started to re-evangelize or re-establish the presence of the Assyrian church of the East in India. So it was basically a bunch of Angelican and other priests that joined the church of the east for that purpose. Learned the Liturgy, theology and other things, etc. Some of which became bishops and were autocephalous, basically seperate from the official assyrian church of the East.

(Edited later) And I stand corrected... they are St, Thomas Christians of India (bascially Chrisitans decended from church of the east and syrian orthodox, in India that later reformed). wow, I've never heard them use that one. I've known st. thomas christians etc. for years, I guess this a new denomination, and myabe they needed a new name to help differentiat themselves from others.

I am already in contact with them. They asked for colloborators and I offerred my services (seeing as they are already using my stuff on their website). Wonderful potential for a symbiotic relationship where we share proofs and they host my website. Sounds promising so far.

I have to retract my statement that they "use my stuff". I have been informed in further discussion that we have word-for-word exact same translation by coincidence, which is possible.

Have they promised to host your website?
Something exciting.
What with the AssyrianLands?
Chris, if your grandfather is Assyrian, then Paul will count you to be special in this forum.

Akhi, my progress is slow and torturous. Nasrani COE have discussed heaps but have not yet agreed to collaboration. Assyrialands has not even answered my request, even though they have a requirement to be of Assyrian descent which I fulfill through my grandfather.

No, race shouldn't mean anyone is more special than another! However, I do wish I would have accepted Paul's gracious offer to host me last year!!

Do stop judging other churches!in your book!especially COE!
Your Peshitta Primacy should include just it and not judgement of other churches.
I agree with Dan Gan on this point.
Chris, please be smart.
Do not judge and you shall not be judged.
I hope that Nasrani COE will host your website.

It is not judging other churches, it is stating of facts. It is FACT that the COE abandoned its Biblical observance of Sabbath and no requirement of celibacy for clergy. That is not judging, that is fact. And if we do not acknowledge facts like these, and facts like how biased Lamsa was, we might lose new "Peshitta converts" who are easily swayed by the enemy by such arguments as "Lamsa was a liar", and "the Peshitta Church is bad", etc
