Yeah, but Papias claimed to be a disciple of John. I think this is only a technicality since I doubt either persons developed a medium for personal chit-chat.

Is there any evidence that they met?

My hypothesis is that Papias was as much of a disciple of John as I am to Plato.

Furthermore, which John?

I've heard theories that the John of the New Testament was not the same John who composed Revelation.
