Peshitta Transliterations
#4
Gentile Wrote:Steve-o, whereabouts exactly on the peshitta.com site did you find this transliteration [under which headings]?

By the way, are you more keen on the so-called Jacobite form of 'Aramaic', as I notice you use the 'o' more than the 'a' [i.e. Shlomo for Shlama, Peshitto for Peshitta etc - if you catch my drift]

Click the "Peshito Syriac Version" on the top menubar on the right, then click "Books" on the left menubar, and choose which book you want to view.

I found that studying Aramaic using the Western system of vowels was easier for me, and most of my exposure to it being spoken has been modern Syriac (which is a western dialect). :-) Plus in written romanization form, it's easier to tell apart the vowels ('Aloho' vs 'Alaha'; sharvtho' vs sharwtha').

Shlomo,
