I certainly pray that God will bless your relationship and the study of His word. I've been using Janet Magiera's translation a lot lately. I think after reading it a lot more, I prefer it over the AENT. If you have Facebook feel free to add me.

It's very disappointing that he's ignoring valuable input like he is now. I don't know if that's more his fault or Baruch's or both. I read the Gospel of John in the AENT a couple of weeks ago and found several typos (notably in the first chapter). They really, really, need to fix this. The AENT is a good translation (although still very flawed), but also needs more work done on just getting the English text where it isn't so jumbled up in places.
The goal of a Bible translator/editor should be to make the translation as accurate as possible for study, preaching, and reading. The AENT team is failing at this right now. I didn't buy the AENT looking for a commentary, I wanted a very accurate translation of the Aramaic Peshitta text. I got a good translation, but one that is badly edited and still needs a lot of corrections.
