The "Split Word" thread
#1
May this thread be ever-growing and fruitful! I find that "split words" are the simplest and most effective proofs of showing that the New Testament was written in Aramaic, not Greek.

What I mean by split word, is variant readings in different Greek manuscripts, that derive from a single word in Aramaic, which is in the Peshitta. History can be argued. The beatuful poetry of the Peshitta can be argued. Errors and 'contradictions' that are solved by the Peshitta can be explained away. But split words cannot!

I currently have burn/boast and imitator/zealous. If anyone has other Greek variants that derive from a single Aramaic word, do tell. Let's collect the whole set <!-- sSmile --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smile.gif" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /><!-- sSmile -->

Regards,

Chris
