Ending of Acts 22:16
#1
I can't speak or read aramaic and I have joined to this forum. My own language is finnish. But I guess nobody understand if I write finnish so I try to write in english.

I have question concerning end of Acts 22:16.

Most english translations from greek Bible manuscripts translate Acts 22:16 as New International Version does:

' ... wash your sins away, calling on his name.'

What I understand this subject, that translation is the right one. But I have seen some odd greek-english translations of Acts 22:16.

All Peshitto->english what I have seen are about same way than NIV etc, it is 'calling'.

(Lamsa Peshitto) ' ... calling on the name of the Lord.
(Murdock Translation of the Western Peshitto) ... while thou invokest his name.
(Etheridge Translation of the Western Peshitto) ... while thou callest his Name.
(Bauscher Translation) ... while call you His Name
(Aramaic Bible, Translated by Victor Alexander) ... while you call out His name.

My question is following.

Is it possible to translate from Peshitta to english that ending of Acts 22:16 with different tense? Or is it undisputed based on Peshitta that it should be that tense ('while call ... ')
