"Common law" marriage is NO marriage in the eyes of YHWH Dawid! It is fornication and adultery! Plenty of couples practice common law "marriage", plenty of couples practice open "marriage" YHWH calls this debauchery, it is a sin!!! Shaul says that to go against the higher authorities is to go against YHWH Himself! The government will not recognize your 2nd, 3rd, ect. wife and neither will YHWH - therefore polygamy is adultery, plain & simple.
