Praise Yahuah we have the perfect new, but what of the Old?

Paul Younan Wrote:Great thoughts Christine, I would only add that the Greek New Testament is our best friend. Without the faithful translation, often at the expense of proper grammar, without those people responsible for the manuscripts we have in Greek, we would not have the internal evidence we do that behind it lay an Aramaic substratum.

These people were probably like the bilingual authors of the LXX, and went to great lengths to stay as close to the original as possible, even if proper grammar be sacrificed.

There was of course such a thing as "Koine" Greek, but not a phrase of the GNT resembles it....rather, it resembles the Greek of the LXX.

The GNT is our friend, a precious and holy resource like the LXX.

Well said.
