some fruit of the last few months

I have normally kept my work between Mister Ripley and myself, but today I felt the Lords leading to show one of these before some folks here. For what reason? I'm not sure really, gotta follow The Lord in things.

Most people know, but I will go ahead and and state it for the other lurkers that usually don't say anything, I only read english. Be that as it may, I have to work off translations of others. Quite a challenge, and quite the dependance upon The Lord throughout it.

Anyways, comments received will be noted. I will not make changes unless directed from above, just so you know.

I'm not sure what original language these were in, but I have utilized the aramaic/syriac with the coptic in areas as I was directed.

ODE 9

1 Open thy ears and I shalt speak unto thee.
2 Give me thy life, that I may also give you my life.
3 The word of The LORD and His desires; the holy thought that He hath conceived concerning His Messiah.
4 For in the will of The LORD is thy salvation, and His purpose is everlasting life, and thy perfection is immortality.
5 Be enriched in GOD The Father, and receive the thought of The MOST HIGH; be strong and redeemed by His grace.
6 For unto thee I announce peace, unto you His Saints, so that none of those who hear may fall into war;
7 And those again who have known Him may not perish; and those who have received may not be ashamed.
8 An everlasting crown forever is Truth; blessed art they who set it upon their heads;
9 A stone of great price it is; for there have been wars on account of the crown;
10 Yet righteousness hath taken it, and hath given it unto thee.
11 Put on the crown, therefore, in the true covenant of The LORD;
12 And all those who have conquered shalt be inscibed in His book;
13 For their book is the victory that is for thee, and she sees you before her, and desires that ye shall be saved.

EDIT: did a few changes in accordance to Harris's translation, it reads better now.

Posting another. This one has the beginning missing (/cry) but hopefully it will be found or The Lord will show it to me. Let's hope.

ODE 3

1 ... I put on.
2 And His members are with Him, and upon them do I stand, and He loves me.
3 And I would not have known how to love The LORD, if He had not faithfully loved me;
4 For who is able to distinguish love, except one who is loved?
5 I love The Beloved, and I myself love Him, and where His rest is, there also am I.
6 I have been united, because the lover has found The Beloved;
7 And because I love Him who is The Son, I shall be a son.
8 Indeed, he who is joined unto Him who is immortal, shall truly be immortal;
9 And he who is accepted in The Life, shall become living.
10 This is The Spirit of The LORD, who doth not lie, who teacheth the sons of men to know His ways.
11 Be wise, understanding, and vigilant.

Wanted to point out, some of these have interpolations. It was quite a surprise to me when The Lord pointed that out, but they do in a lot of areas.

Akhi Dave,

Is this still The Odes of Solomon ? It is a beautiful treatise of a first century Christian's testimony. I would love to see the Aramaic.
It has a lot of doctrine in it as well.Thanks for posting it.

Grace and Peace in Christ,

Yes Rev Dave, these are the odes still. I have been working with them a lot. It has been a real treat also! Such strength in them.

The texts I'm working with are:

-The odes and Psalms of Solomon by J. Rendel Harris

-The Odes of solomon: The Syriac texts. James Hamilton Charlesworth.

I sent a copy of Harris's book to Paul. It did not contain the additional text that is in Charlesworth's book though. I don't think it was found at the time Harris did his translation of it, although Harris's is very nice! Both books contain aramaic texts, but Charlesworth's is more complete for the linguist.

This is only part of what The Lord wants me to do, and I felt His leading to present some of it here for some reason, so I have. I think I'm able to take it a bit farther than the scholar can, meaning that I depend entirely on The Lord for His leading and revelation on these. At the moment, I'm just trying to put together a critical type text of these for The Lord and pray he will let me reach into the spiritual imprint, the living word, and make the corrections from there. Scholars don't have that sort of resource at their disposal, nor do they consider that to be even an option, which is ok with me, I want to do it. It touches a bit on how the old prophets used to do it, but instead of me receiving the words to write down, I want to see the words that were written, and make the corrections. Anyone who has seen the glory of the living word would know what I'm talking about.

Anyways, here is one that presents more of a doctrinal approach for you Rev Dave. I have capitalized areas that I think are referenced to The Almighty to show the distinction that is being presented by the writer. Most, I do say most, areas I'm sure are correct on which part of the GODHEAD is being presented, but I want a further insight to be sure on this particular ode/psalm and a few others. But here it is to ponder for the time being:

ODE 7

1 As the course of anger is against wickedness, so is the course of joy over what is lovely, and brings in of its fruits without restraint.
2 My joy is The LORD and my running is towards Him, and this path of mine is excellent, for there is a helper for me, The LORD.
3 He hath generously shown Himself unto me in His simplicity; the greatness of His kindness hath humbled me.
4 For He became like me, that I may receive Him; in form like myself, that I may put Him on;
5 And I trembled not when I saw Him, because He was gracious unto me.
6 Like my nature He became, that I may understand Him, and like my form, that I may not turn from Him.
7 The Father of knowledge is the word of knowledge, yet HE who created wisdom is wiser than HIS works;
8 And HE who created me when yet I was nothing, knew also what I should do when I came into being.
9 Therefore, was HE merciful unto me in HIS abundant grace, and granted me to ask from Him and to receive from His sacrifice.
10 For it is HE who is incorruptible, the perfection of the ages, and the Father of them.
11 And HE hath given Him to be seen by them who art HIS own, in order that they may know HIM who made them, and not suppose that they came of themselves.
12 For towards knowledge hath HE set His way, and He hath widened it, extended it, and brought it to complete perfection;
13 And hath set over it the traces of His light, and it proceedeth therein from the beginning to the end.
14 For by Him HE was served, and by The Son HE was pleased, and for His life HE shalt take hold of everything.
15 And The MOST HIGH shall be known by His saints; to announce unto those who have songs of the coming of The LORD;
16 That they may go forth to meet HIM, and may sing to HIM with joy and with the harp of many tones;
17 And they shalt praise the LORD in HIS love, because HE is near and beholdeth.
18 And hatred shalt be taken from the earth; and jealousy shalt be drowned with it;
19 For ignorance wast destroyed upon it, because the knowledge of The LORD hath arrived.
20 Let the singers sing the grace of The LORD MOST HIGH; let them bring their songs;
21 And let their hearts be like the day, and their gentle voices like the majestic beauty of The LORD.
22 And let there not be anyone who is without knowledge or voice;
23 For HE hath given a mouth unto HIS creation, to open the voice of the heart towards HIM, to praise HIM.
24 Confess ye HIS power, and show forth HIS grace.

EDIT: The Lord opened a few things up to make the text flow even better.

Wanted to explain a few things for those who may be interested.

How each line is divided is different between the 2 texts of the aramaic. In one sense, manuscript H divides the numbering in relation to context, then in another Ode, manuscript N does. Between the both of them, they make mistakes in many areas in bringing out the correct emphasis. Then I'm sure the Coptic would throw in its peculiarities also.

I have not restrained myself to either of the texts in conveying the correct number structure. The texts would bring about confusion to try and do so. I pattern it to what insight I receive from The Lord as I'm working with them. This has it's advantages, but does take time. Also, I must not consider any one complete till I know that I know from within.

Here is an example. This is Ode 9, the first that I posted. Just when I thought it was complete, The Lord opened it up further today for me and brought about a greater insight to it. I have left the first posting there in case any wanted to do some comparison to see how The Lord is evolving this.

ODE 9

1 Open thy ears and I shalt speak unto thee.
2 Give me thy life, that I may also give you my life.
3 The word of The LORD and His desires;
4 The holy thought that He hath conceived concerning His Messiah.
5 For in the will of The LORD is thy salvation;
6 And His purpose is everlasting life, and thy perfection is immortality.
7 Be enriched in GOD The Father, and receive the strength of The MOST HIGH;
8 Be strong and redeemed by His grace;
9 For unto thee I announce peace, unto you His Saints;
10 So that none of those who hear may fall in the war;
11 And those again who have known Him may not perish;
12 And that those who have received may not be confused.
13 An everlasting crown forever is Truth;
14 Blessed art they who set it upon their heads.
15 For it is a stone of great price;
16 And the wars have been on account of the crown;
17 Yet righteousness hath taken it, and hath given it unto thee.
18 Put on the crown, therefore, in the true covenant of The LORD;
19 And all those who have conquered shalt be inscibed in His book;
20 For their book is the victory that is for thee;
21 And she sees you before her, and desires that ye shall be saved.

Posting another Ode. This is number 8 and it is very uplifting.

ODE 8

1 Open ye, open ye thine hearts, to the exultation of The LORD;
2 And let thy love be multiplied from the heart unto the lips;
3 To Bring forth fruit unto The LORD; to live holy;
4 And to talk with watchfulness in His light.
5 Rise up and stand erect! Ye who sometime were brought low.
6 Tell forth! Ye who were in silence, that thy mouth hath been opened.
7 Ye therefore, who were despised, be henceforth lifted up!
8 For the right hand of The LORD is with thee, and He is thy helper;
9 And peace wast prepared for thee before ever thy war was.
10 Hear the word of truth, and receive the knowledge of The MOST HIGH;
11 For thy flesh hath not known that which I speak unto thee;
12 Nor hast thy garment understood that which I show unto thee.
13 Keep my mystery! Ye who are kept by it;
14 Keep my faith! Ye who are kept by it;
l5 And understand my knowledge, ye who know me in truth;
16 And love me with affection, ye who love;
17 For I turn not my face from them who art mine, for I know them;
18 And before they came into being, I took knowledge of them;
19 And set my seal upon their faces.
20 I am pleased with them and not ashamed of them;
21 For my workmanship art they, and the strength of my thoughts.
22 Who then, shall stand against my handiwork;
23 Or who is not subject unto them?
24 I willed and fashioned mind and heart, and they art mine;
25 And by my own right hand I set my elect ones.
26 Ask, abound, and abide in the love of The LORD.
27 And ye beloved ones of The Beloved;
28 Those who art kept by Him who liveth;
29 And they who art saved by Him who wast saved;
30 Ye shall be found incorrupt throughout all ages to the name of thy Father.
