Then they will deliver to afflictions and they will kill you and you will be hated by all nations because of my name. Then many will stumble and will hate one another and will betray one another.
I agree this is talking about believers.

Dear Christians

Your colleague directed me to Matthew 23 verse 9. I think the "you" in this verse are Jewish believers. His name being Yahushuah, is a name of reproach. Jewish believers may well experience both external and internal hatred.

Why I am in consternation is 1 Thess 4:10 note 10 A.G.R calls the Rapture a "theory". I can well accept that the western Christian church is largely apostate having made the Torah irrelevant; but I need to know what theory A.G.R. has that is different from the plain words of scripture, about the rapture. Call it the netcatep is you will. Although A.G.R. is a Jew by race does this exclude him from the rapture? Is that his erroneous theory I wonder.

Persecuted true Christians should not make the rapture a sort of "escape clause". Many Christians are not in the will of Elohim and will be suffering a national disaster as in the Middle East generally and Africa. This was true of the Jews in the holocaust, as far as I can understand.

Christians were thrown to the lions but many were surely in the will of Elohim for their testimony that this life is not all there is.

You could ask A.G.R. to communicate with me direct as although part of a redundant church I still hope to be taken at the rapture.

Shlama Akhi Aldred, I would like to ask, what is your belief about the rapture? Can you lay it out in about 50 words or so, and I'll comment further.

My understanding of the rapture.

The "brethren" movement started in Ireland sometime about 1830 and the main leader of the movement was J.N.Darby. The early brethren thought that they were right in withdrawing from the established churches and endeavored to form a unity based on 2 Timothy 2:19. and Let everyone who invokes the name of our Master (Yashua) stand aloof from iniquity. They proved to be wrong historically since a unity was never achieved, that is a church unity. We had a history of church divisions. However as AGR states it seems to be true that about this time 1 Thessalonians 4:17 "and then we who survive and are alive will be caught up together with them to the clouds to meet our Master (Y'shua) in the air; and so will we be caught up together with them to the clouds to meet our Master (Y'shua) in the air; and so will we be ever with our Master," became a main topic of conversation. The AENT note 10 page 615 should read The Rapture Theory was invented by Rav Paul in the early first century etc. etc., to make sense to me.
Thinking over AGR's understanding I can only come to the conclusion that he does not believe in a current church testimony. In his mind is all now apostate, and therefore in AGR's mind there will not be a church rapture, as such. This is acceptable but I might get derisory by saying, Has the rapture now been cancelled because AGR is now left with a Jewish remnant of Natzareens who have the Spirit but are not in the same prophetic time zone perhaps, so do not expect to be raptured.

2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you in any way because (that day will not come) unless there previously come a defection(4) and that man of sin be revealed; the son of destruction; I have no trouble in agreeing note 4 The falling away or the Great Apostasy refers to the fallen state of Christianity as a whole; the original First Century Christian Faith was one Faith with the Netzarim Jewish followers of Y'shua.

As a PB! (Plymouth Brother) my quote would have been from Revelation 3:10 "Because you have kept the Word of my patience, I also will keep you out of the hour of temptation that is to come on all the habitable world to try them who dwell on the earth". In other words the historical Philadelphian church represents
those who would be raptured at the coming of Y'shua for His church. I see that this is making the assumption that their being kept out of the hour of trial would be by means of the rapture, which I fully admit is saying more than scripture.

So I don't claim to know how the rapture will take place in history. It's a shame that I cannot agree with AGR as I would like to. I got into the web sight 2besaved.com and obtained the HS bible but I could see straight away that there was a denial of the rapture of 1 Thess 4:17 and have no idea why. Similarly I have no idea why Andrew thinks 1 Thess 4:17 is a Rapture Theory. It is not the same as a Trinity theory which I see eye to eye with Andrew on or the "Man who is God" phrase which I had problems with and agree that this is part of the delusion of the moment.

I have no idea how many words I have written and have no ill feelings.

Shalom

Aldred
