Please pray for me, Akhay - Paul Younan - 02-04-2004

Akhay,

I've been diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (which is when something in your airway collapses during sleep and obstructs your breathing.) Left untreated, it is deadly.

A couple of docs here in Chicago seem to think that it's my large tonsils/uvula and soft palate. There is a very painful surgical procedure to remove all this tissue (I've heard it's especially painful for adults.)

I'm flying out to Stanford University in the San Francisco area tonight to consult with two doctors who are considered the foremost experts/surgeons on this procedure. This is just an initial consulatation.

If I wind up having this surgery (which only has a 50% chance of success), I will be in misery (lots of narcotics, hopefully) for about 2-3 weeks unable to eat anything solid, etc.

Please pray for me. I am very anxious over this.

Dear Akhi Paul,

We will surely pray for you akhi. You are the most important person online running the most important web site doing the most important project to benefit mankind.

When I first discovered about this site a few years back, I am always worried about your health because this web site has to continue even after all of us have departed from this world.

When I first discovered about the existence of Peshitta many years ago, buying the domain name http://www.peshitta.org ever came across my mind. I am glad that this domain is run by a worthy person like you Paul Younan.

Thanks a lot for giving us Peshitta for free.

Be strong and courageous.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea - gbausc - 02-04-2004

Dear Paul,

I know someone who had Sleep Apnea and was cured just by taking some Melaleuca vitamins. I don't know that it was Obstructive Sleep Apnea. It couldn't hurt to take the vitamins. They cost 22.95 plus shipping. My wife and I use them and they are excellent. We have some on the way to us. Give me your address and we will send them to you.

I pray for your health and peace of mind.
"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee." Isaiah 26:3

Grace and Peace from Mariah Yeshua,

Dave B

You are in my prayers.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 peter 5:6

Will pray for you Akh.

If the worst happens don't worry. God will look after everything and continue the translation. And if your family is in need (financial etc) I can look after them.

Be strong Akh!

Let's not forget Paul. I know we are in our little worlds at times, including myself, but let's please keep him actively in our prayers.

- Paul Younan - 02-09-2004

Thanks for all your prayers.

I met with the docs at Stanford and was very impressed with their level of knowledge about this syndrome. I guess they have the most experience with the various surgeries they perform to get rid of this.

Now, I'm struggling with trying to figure out if I'm really going to leave Chicago for 2 weeks along with the wife and kids and spend the time out there recovering after surgery. It's going to be real tough with a 3-year old and a 2-month old (plus, I'll probably be the biggest baby that Donna has ever had to take care of.)

Man. I'm not looking forward to this 2-weeks pain period. I've heard people are in agony (not being able to eat, drink, etc.)

Ugggghhhh.

If anything happens, It'll probably be in the middle of march or later. God, please help me.

Have you considered weight loss before surgery?

- Paul Younan - 02-09-2004

Akhi, I am 5 pounds over my ideal weight. I don't think weight is an issue here. My tonsils, uvula, soft palate and tongue base are all large and are contributing to the obstructed breathing. It's an excess tissue issue, not a weight issue.

I wish it was just a matter of losing weight. That would be easy and painless.

Sleep Apnea - ograabe - 02-09-2004

February 9, 2004
Davis, CA

Dear Paul:

Sleep apnea is quite common and, although it can be quite serious, surgery is usually the last resort. Some people are helped by using a simple mouthpiece during sleep. The most common treatment is positive-pressure ventilation. Special simple machines that provide steady gentle pressure to a nose-piece can result in normal sleep. People with sleep apnea find their lives are changed by using positive pressure ventilation devices.

Every major city has sleep medical clinics and sleep specialist. Chicago probably has dozens.

Paul, please exhaust all other options before you submit to surgery!

Sincerely,

Otto

Please pray for me, Akhay - george - 02-09-2004

Akhi Paul,

Ask Maran Yeshu's faith to become your faith for the instant healing you are dreaming of. Call on His Mighty Name persistently! And cast out all the worries and surgery thoughts from yourself --- instead, rely and trust the Lord Yeshu' without a single doubt for His marvelous healing Power. Keep on praying on your knees to the Lamb of God.

Be healed, Akhi!
