Ephesians 3:9 - BSWA2 part 6 - is this a split word? - drmlanc - 09-20-2003 Akhan Larry found the "fellowhip" and "dispensation" in various Greek mss, and in Peshitta, it is Fwnrbdm Here is CAL for Fwnrbdm: mdbrnw N mdbrnwt) 1 Syr institution 2 Syr administration 3 Syr authority 4 Syr mode of life 5 Syr dispensation 6 Syr economy LS2 140 LS2 v: mdab.rAnuwtA) R dbr and for root rbd (type in CAL as dbr): dbr N dbr) 1 Syr ploughing 2 Syr ground to be ploughed 3 Syr carrying 4 Syr agitation 5 JLATg impulse LS2 140 LS2 v: dbArA) TNMg 23227 R dbr dbr#2 N dbr) 1 JLATg,Syr,JBA,Mand high pasture 2 Syr desert LS2 140 LS2 v: dabrA) M v: dbar cf. Are "institution", "to marry", etc viable meanings for 'fellowship'? . - drmlanc - 09-21-2003 Hi, does anyone of you Aramaic dudes know if "mdbrnw" can mean fellowship also? If so, Larry has another split word. Re:Medabranotha - Larry Kelsey - 09-21-2003 drmlanc Wrote:Hi, does anyone of you Aramaic dudes know if "mdbrnw" can mean fellowship also? 'Medbranotha' has more to do with 'stewardship' and 'leadership' as opposed to 'fellowship'. The thing to consider here is a look-alike Greek word possibly. After all, 'oikonomia' (administration, "economy") sounds somewhat like 'koinonia' (fellowship) but maybe there's another answer as to why Zorba chose 'koinonia' as opposed to 'oikonomia'. Shlama w'Burkate, Larry Kelsey - drmlanc - 09-21-2003 And I already wrote everything for it Ah well, it can go in the 'similar words' article |
