HI, just replied to everybody.
The file is 1.23 GB, too big for email sending or upload to website.
But Skype solves such problems.

Index to the manuscript.

Shalom Chaverim!

Does anyone have any more news about this version?
Would she be closer to the original? If so, why? If not, why? Does anyone have more information on it?

Shlama Akhi Ben:
The Mingana Codex (Syriac 148) has been called the New Testament Eastern Peshitta Masorah, because of its well written, accurate representation of the Eastern Peshitta. It differs little fom the Khabouris Codex. Moreover, it has scribal notes, including a complete list and origin of the 70 other Apostles who were sent out. The text was written by at least one master scribe, for its consistency of letter formation in the East Adiabene textual script. It's much easier reading than the Khabouris Codex. The Mingana Codex was hand written in the 17th Century. The Mingana is as close to the orignal Peshitta as is the Khabouris Codex.

Shlama,
Stephen Silver

Brother Stephen,

Do you know anything about these two Manuscripts? #14448 & #14470 at the list below.

Shlama Akhi Chuck,

Here's a fantastic resource for the details on all the Peshitta manuscripts in the British Museum:

http://www.archive.org/stream/catalogueofsyria01brituoft#page/40/mode/2up

Note that this collection is a mixture of Eastern and Western (Peshitto) manuscripts.

Thanks Shamasha Paul,

Are those two Manuscripts listed there as another number? If you know which they are what is the number in the list there?

Quote:Moreover, it has scribal notes, including a complete list and origin of the 70 other Apostles who were sent out.

Akhi Stephen, do you have the list of names that we could see? I would love to know what their names were/are, and their origins.

Shlama,
Chuck

You're welcome Akhan Chuck,

There appear to be two different cataloging schemes here, I've not been able to reconcile the two...yet.

Re: Mingana 148 (Eastern Peshitta) - 1 file - Phil - 02-03-2012

Add. 14470 and Add. 14448 are the first and second NT manuscripts described in the catalogue:

14470 = LXIII
14448 = LXIV

Hope this helps!
