James Murdock--Google Books - Andrew Gabriel Roth - 11-16-2008 Shlama all-- I recently found on Google books a free public domain electronic copy of James Murdock's translation, which has many more notes and features than the one at aramaicpeshitta.com. We have long assumed Murdock, like Etheridge, was a Greek primacist, However, listen to this from his second appendix: "Peschtto Syriac...this is not only much older than the Philoxenian or the later Syriac version, but it is very generally admitted to be the oldest version to have come to us of the New Testament in any language."
