Lamsa has matthew 5-6,' blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice' , is this correct?
What is the aramaic word for righteousness used in this passage in other translations, and what does it mean in aramaic and in english?

It means justice, righteousness, uprightess etc.

--><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smile.gif" alt="" title="Smile" /><!-- s --> as to justice in Aramaic, i may not pronounce it properly, but the same spelling in On'kelos of the Chumash renders its root as Ken, meaning righteous, godly, upright, and justice.
on another note: i like finding Hebrew and Aramaic words stashed away in other languages, like Sepher/Cipher, Gemara/Grammar, etc. this word, Ken can be found in the Scottish vernacular with a very similar meaning: to be sharp, straight, to perceive rightly, acknowledge, etc etc. anyhoo... just a bit of trivia... <!-- s:biggrin: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/biggrin.gif" alt=":biggrin:" title="Big Grin" /><!-- s:biggrin: -->
