Ok, here's the thing with that: what needs to noted are 2 factors: 1) expertise & focus; 2) time & resources. For example while akhan Andrew is all for this idea, he's concerned that he won't always have time to be around, so I think it would be better to divide the sections of the blog between groups of 2 or 3 as opposed to individuals, that way we'll "have each other's backs", someone will always be there in case one of us can't be. Also Yeshua did send His disciples out two by two. And of course depending on who accepts the invitations, but here are my nominations, based on traffic (most frequent visits to this forum):
You, Andrew, Ryan, Rafa, Keefa (Abudar), Stephen, Otto, Albion & myself.
Alright fellow nominees here are the 5 five proposed sections of the blog:
*Aramaic Churches
*Jews & Nazarenes
*Mainstream/Western Churches
*Muslims
*Academics
Which section will you spend most of your time, and what topics are you the most versed in? What ideas do you have to carry out our object (in post #1) and who can you to appoint (among the members of this forum) to assist you with speaking to visitors of the blog. Akhan Paul do you need assistants with maintaining the blog? I.e. web developers, translators or programmers? If yes, can anyone here assist akhan Paul with these things, or have friends who would be interested in helping out?

PS - OK, I'm game.
If you're game, sure do the audio files but you don't have to. The point is to get Peshitta readings in audio, get someone in your church choir to do them, if you think you sound that bad, but I don't know I've never heard you speak, LOL. And that brings me to:

I'd Love to hear your voice, but alas, ALL of the "messenger" programs open up one's computer to letting "outsiders" get *inside* one's computer.
My wife Sandy, had to even stop using Instant Messenger to talk to her own children, some of whom, live far away.
I would say more, but it would just get deleted, if I did.
My Dad was a Brit. I found out from my daughter Kerri, that I could have been a Brit, years ago, because my Dad was an immigrant to America.
It only requires 3 pieces of pertinent information, and BOOM! I could instantly become a British Citizen, because of my Dad.
I might have done that back in my 20's, but I'm 56 now, and that's too old for that kind of change!
Interestingly, people have always said that I should work in radio, because I supposedly, have a "radio voice".
I ended up driving professionally most of my life instead. You name it, and I've driven it!
Maybe you can post an audio file, so we can ALL hear you, instead!

It's unfortunate what happened, but is there anyway we can retrieve the announcement itself? You create a lot of posts where you end with "this will surely get deleted", etc.
If you know before you hit the "post" button that the post will be deleted, why do you do it? Are you intentionally trying to test me and see what you can get away with?
Unfortunately, your demeanor as of late has been such that you are giving me the impression that it is your intention to purposely violate the rules of the forum, keep distracting the rest of us from our work, alienate potential visitors and basically test the limits of my patience.
I have had to privately and publicly reprimand you on more than one occasion, but it does not seem to me to be having a positive effect on your behavior. For someone who claims to love this website and forum so much, you are not helping at all.
I am asking you for one final time, as a brother in Meshikha - please respect the rules I have put into place on this forum. Before you hit that submit button, if the thought is already in your head that a delete might happen, don't bother pressing the submit button.
I have never banned anyone from the forum, and I don't intend to do so. But I do not have the time to babysit every single post you and anyone else makes.
If you intentionally disregard this umpteenth request I have made, you will suddenly find yourself on my "foe" list - and that's not a long list.
I hope I've finally made myself clear.

Pulling the plug on an offending topic or wayward thread must be decisive. It takes discernment and a patient spirit to know when and why to pull the plug. Some topics come very close to the edge without actually violating forum rules. You can see that the participants are in a heated exchange but it's a cohesive and intelligent exchange so... "let it ride"! Off topic subjects need to be corrected quickly before they become a distraction. Sometimes the topic finds its way back on the rails all by itself. Other times it needs gentle coaxing. Other times a warning or short decisive rebuke. The last resort is a ban.

I must admit this before I mention anything else: I have not read all the posts to this thread. But here is my 2cents. And I know I am new to this list. But how about a chat room. During the evening it would be an opportune time to discuss things and "cut through alot of fat" in shorter durations of time because we would be conversing right there. Just a thought. Maybe in the future or maybe a little down the road. STill, the forum boards are very good anyhow because the replies allow you to "think through" the answers.

There are many chat rooms on the internet where chit-chat is welcome, but I don't think <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.peshitta.org">www.peshitta.org</a><!-- w --> is the appropriate place fot it. Hearing Aramaic spoken with the English transliterations, translations and the Aramaic text viewable would be very helpful in learning the language, which is the desired goal of many here...could we have a section set up like that to this end?
